Quinoa is a favorite in our house. It is a grain very rich in amino acids (protein) that has a fluffy, creamy and slightly nutty flavor when cooked. Quinoa can be used in place of rice or potatoes in most hotdishes and also as a great side with almost any kind of meat or fish.
Although not a common item in most kitchens today, quinoa is an amino acid-rich (protein) seed that has a fluffy, creamy, slightly crunchy texture and a somewhat nutty flavor when cooked.
Simple Cooked Quinoa
1c beef broth
1c water
1 tsp olive oil
2 tsp tuscan sun seasoning
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp parsley
1c quinoa
In a saucepan or pot on medium-high heat, bring to boil the beef broth, water, olive oil and spices. Once boiling, add the quinoa. Cover and reduce heat to simmer. Set your time for 25 minutes. Quinoa should be soft and plump.
